First two days of school

Well Alex made it through his first 2 days of school. Thursday was his first day, I walked him to his room and then after a couple mins he told me to leave. He said he had a really good day, when I asked him what he did he said he went to the bathroom, ate lunch, and watched a movie. Later I found out he learned a nursery rhyme and learned a story called the kissing hand story. I asked him what it was and he said he didn't want to talk about it because it was about kissing. Anyway, he learned to say I Love You in sign language and his person stayed in the green pocket all day.

Day two.....not so good!

Clint's mom picked him up and when I talked to him in the car he immediately started sobbing.... he had gotten in trouble at school. He told me his person was moved to the Yellow pocket. He wouldn't talk so I had to wait until I got off to talk to him. I got to Clint's mom's house and took out his folder and he got in trouble for 3 things. He started crying again, but this time he didn't stop for well over an hour. In the car on the way home I asked him what he did, he told me it was classified......(I'm in trouble aren't I). I told him he better unclassify it!

Long story short I told him I wasn't mad at him, that he was going to make mistakes, and this was his warning. That I was disappointed but next week was a new week and he could start all over. He looked up and said, I'm trying really hard, but there is just so much to remember. So, we are looking forward to a fresh start next week, and hopefully no more bad behavior. I hope Clint and I handled it correctly.... I was ready for him to get his card pulled, however, I wasn't ready for him to be sooooo upset about it (You would have thought by all the crying we were the meanest parents on the planet and he feared for his life or something).

This school thing is totally new for all of us..... Alex was still taking 2 hr naps after lunch, so that is an adjustment (especially for his attitude), early bedtime, early mornings, etc..... We'll work together and get the hang of it!

Overall he LOVES school, and his teacher!

So please pray for him/us over the next couple weeks. Pray that he gets the hang of it, adjusts well, and that Clint and I handle the bad moments well. I don't want to discourage him, but I do want the punishment to fit the crime.

Also, I stink....... I realize I never updated anyone on Owen. I'm sorry. A couple post down I mentioned Owen, his cancer levels have come down, there is no spot on his liver, and his bowels are under control for the moment. THANK YOU so much for all your prayers, God has really taken care of Owen and he will continue to do so!

As always, please pray for Ethan. You can follow his story at www.caringbridge.com/visit/bibb be sure to leave him a message in his guestbook. He loves to read them.

Have a great weekend!
