Not so good news.....

Well as I mentioned yesterday Clint had an appointment with an ENT about an ongoing ear infection that will not go away. The ENT was full of "could bes" but the bottom line was there was so much FUNK~yes FUNK in his ear that he couldn't even tell what the problem is... He laid on a table for 30 mins while the Dr sucked and vaccummed in his ear and cleaned it out. He is on some high power $95 (with insurance) ear drop and another oral medication. He goes back in two weeks and if it isn't any better they will most likely have to do surgery. The other ear that was not even hurting has a hole in the ear drum and they did a little snip on it to send off for a culture and said it could be the beginnings of a cyst. UGH>>>> are ENTs like car mechanics? Do they look for something else to be wrong? Please pray that the medications do work because we have an extremely high deductible on our insurance and we don't have an extra $5k laying around the house. God will provide as he always does...

If you haven't ever been to our house we live about 15 min outside of town. We have a little over an acre lot, but we do have lots of neighbors. We were standing out in the yard chatting with one of our said neighbors last night and they were grilling. Now mind you it is close to 8pm and we haven't had dinner yet. Clint decides to grill~but this requires going to the grocery since we have not been since he got back home from Texas. So to town we went.... I discovered some new rules.... here you go

Rule #1 Never go to the grocery hungry
Rule #2 Whenever possible leave your husband at home
Rule #3 A 4 year old without a nap doesn't make for a pleasant shopping experience

My grocery bill was outrageous, totally blew the budget! After all that we get home at 9:15 and didn't even fire up the grill!

Today has been a some what lazy day.... I say lazy because none of us have gone anywhere and no one has showered.... but yet it has been a busy day. Laundry, dishes, lunch, nap, now dinner.... I hate spending the weekends doing housework. I like to do laundry at night, dishes as they come, but I've yet to keep them done since the dishwasher doesn't do such a hot job these days. We really need to purchase a new one. I don't know how folks survived before dishwashers. We used to have our house cleaned every two weeks, but decided to forfeit that when we did our last budget meeting.... however, she did come while Clint was in Texas. I was at my wits end. Clint left for Iowa in June, a week after he left my great grandmother passed away, he flew home for less than a day for the funeral and then right back out he went. Then he comes home the night before we leave for the annual camping trip to the lake and we had to do all his laundry.... it was left piled on the spare bed... then when we get home he left for Hurricane Dolly in Texas and while he was gone I had a meltdown. I have to be at work at 7am, Clint takes Alex for me so to take him added another hour to my trip. By the time I picked him up and got home I couldn't get it all done and spend time with Alex. I've always respected single moms.... now I do even more. It is hard to work and keep the house work up and spend quality time with Alex as it is, but whew enough is enough! SO.... maybe I can talk Clint into letting her come every two weeks again.... we shall see.

Oh and if you are wondering Clint is a restoration contractor. He does water and mold remediation for a living and loves storms, so every chance he gets he chases one.... Not really but he's been gone quite a bit the last several years. He started working there about 5 years ago and they went to their first storm the year Alex was born. He was gone a few months to Hurricane Charlie, the longest stint was Hurricane Katrina, he did an entire mold remediation at the Seminary in New Orleans and was gone close to 8 months. They promise no more long trips, but when you are home alone a week is a long trip!

Enough blabbing enjoy the video!

The video is of Alex and Phoebe playing
